The # 1 Question I get as a Coach is “I am getting a lot of people clicking on my ads, or liking my posts, or commenting on my videos and facebook lives…but I am not getting anybody to opt in. What am I doing wrong?”
In this article I will go over some very important key factors that will change your clicks, likes and views into new leads, that will convert to customers. In turn, this will increase your margin and your stick rate and frequency of sales.
At the end of the day that is all we really want – to increase the growth potential of our product or service.
The truth of the matter is most of us are not just missing the mark; we are not even close. It is one thing to build a funnel. In fact, building a funnel is the easy part. The real work starts before you even start working on your campaign. It will take time to establish who your market is, or as I like to call it, your Avatar.
Once you’ve established your market, you’ll need to get really specific and not only know who they are but where they hang out, what they do, what they like. When we learn to answer these questions, and can establish exactly what their desired end result is, you will be doing your “Convert like a Ninja” happy dance.
In this article you are going to learn about some never before revealed techniques, some things that will blow your mind. Finally, you will immediately understand why you haven’t been having your desired success.

I used to go crazy! I was creating what I thought were pretty cool landing pages; doing what I thought were powerful videos and Facebook lives; creating what I thought were amazing e-mail campaigns – and got nothing. It was like crickets.
I actually had the mindset that all I needed to do was to keep grinding and eventually my hard work would pay off. Nothing replaces good ole hard work, right? Wrong. What we are talking about is Customer Value Optimization.
Just because our product is great and they need it, doesn’t mean they know it.
When it comes to dating or creating a relationship, we understand that there is a structure…there is a normal healthy path we follow with human relationships.
For some reason when it comes to business, we get all weird and get really creepy about it. We end up throwing up all over someone about our product. What we really need to do is stop talking about our product and start talking about how we can bring value to our clients.
Instead we get like that weird guy or girl on the 1st date who is already talking about marriage. Or the complete opposite where we become like that nice guy in high school who was all the girls friend but no one would actually go out with because he was like the yes guy. He would do everything for you then would maybe sort of ask you out and then when you laughed in his face he would be like yeah, no I was just kidding.
Creepy or pathetic. For most of us that is how we run our Business.
The truth is that building your business is no different than building a healthy relationship.
The Dating Process:
• What’s your name? – Lead Magnet
• Do you want tea? – Trip Wire
• Can I take you out on a date? – Core Offer
• Will you Marry Me? – Profit Maximize
• Chocolates, love notes and flowers? – Return Customer
When you build your business like this, you will get people coming to you and you won’t have to look for them.
They will be saying “I want it, I need it, I trust you and I believe in what you are saying.”
The great news is that you are a lot closer to building funnels that convert. It is just the matter of making some little tweaks that will swing open some big doors and bring great conversions.
The first thing is to determine what your number one flagship product is.
Next you have to know who your avatar is.
Then we need to determine how we can position our primary product, so it meets your market’s desired outcome end result.
Most of the time we spend too much time talking about our products features and benefits and the truth is, it really doesn’t matter. If you really want to separate yourself from all the other marketers, you must determine your avatars desired results. That is all that really matters.
The only thing we do is we take our avatar from Sad to Glad. This is called the Value Continuum.
When you get really good at doing this, your avatar will be screaming to the mountain top.
“Wow! I got to have it! how do I get it? I so want that benefit!
This is all we do in Business. Period.
The easiest way to do this is to stop talking about our product and start talking to our avatar. Allow them to time travel about what life could look like when they are in a happy state and doing their happy dance.
How do we do this? By determining our avatars before & after…what they have, how they feel, what their average day looks like and what their status is. Then we look at what they can have, how they can feel, what their average day will look like and what their status will be.
We need to be able to articulate the shift when they move from that state to their new state.
What is the Value?
- What do they have or not have?
- How does your product or service change how they feel?
- How can it change their average day?
- How can it change their story or narrative?
The more of these before and after nuggets make their way into your copy, the better your funnel will convert,
“We get our narrative from shared experience”
The more we can get our avatar to be the hero in their world with our product and service the more we help them to win. The more we win.
Status is EVERYTHING to your avatar.
Change your avatars status and you will be a rock star.
The key thing to notice here when we follow this formula, is the product hasn’t changed, but the message has changed. We need to tell our hero story.
When you do this your orders and conversions increase, referrals increase, stick rates go up and you get more reorders.
When we change how they feel and what they think about themselves, we are widening the Value Continuum. We are changing their status. The messaging we have created is bringing value.
Once you have identified your avatars “Ideal After” you can now create their “Statement of Value”
The Statement of Value is the greatest gift you can give your Client.
This is also the #1 Thing that will turn you into a conversion Ninja.
Until you figure this out you, will be swimming upstream and banging your head against the wall.
So, how do we get these that deserve to win, to actually win?
We create something worth optimizing. Something that brings value to the market place.
Until we have this Statement of Value in my opinion we are wasting our time.
It will absolutely not work. Period. And is not worth creating an optimizing funnel.
Most marketers live in the world of the “unique selling proposition.
-Why we are different?
-Why we are better?
Stop talking about your product or service. Start talking about your avatar’s “after”.
Once you have created your Statement of Value
Does reading your Statement of Value make you laugh and cry? Does it move you to your core and get you excited all over again? If not, then keep working on it till it does. If it doesn’t organically move you, you may have to move on to something else because the truth is, if you’re not truly excited about it, how do you think you are going to get anyone else to be truly excited about it?
As a matter of fact, if you are ever working with a client on their Statement of Value and they don’t get excited about it, you should probably let them go and save yourself the headache.
This Statement of Value is that important. There are a lot of people who deserve to win.
Creating the Statement of Value is huge.
SO, now that we have created our avatars and Statement of Value and know exactly what they want. It is all downhill from here. Right. Wrong.
This is where most people drop the ball. They vomit all over the avatar and freak them out. This is really creepy and when was the last time you liked to be thrown up on.
This is where building that natural relationship comes in.
Our next hurdle is going to be overcoming the two kinds of doubt:
1) Customers doubt in you or your product
2) The bigger one is they doubt themselves from past experiences and results.
How do we overcome these hurdles? We do it with:
• Lead magnets,
• Trip Wires.
• By Dating,
• Taking Baby Steps
• Adding incredible value
• Taking time with the relationship
We now Optimize the Lead magnet and Convert like a Ninja.
My hope and desire for you is you take these tools, strategies and Ninja tricks and apply them to your business and have the desired success you want and deserve.
